MCLC is designed to increase participants’ knowledge of Marshall County and to enhance their leadership skills to better serve the community. The program year will begin in August with an orientation. Thereafter, MCLC will generally meet for day-long sessions on the third Thursday of each month through May, December excluded.
Participants are privileged to explore, in-depth, topics including Economic Development, Education, Public Safety, Local and State Government, Tourism, Media and Health and Social Services. They are also required to engage and participate in one Government function, one Education program or function, one Community Event, and one Chamber function during the course of the year.
We are incorporating speakers to discuss various traits leaders display as well as adding in more hands-on and critical thinking opportunities to enforce the focus of each program.
